Chapter 21: Rohan Information Guild

*VENUS's POV*

When i heard his door shut with a loud bang, i couldn't help but realize something.

My plan is working.

I tilted my head. The fruits of my hard work showed when Alpha Derek willingly confronted me today. I

almost gave up after four months of pretending to hold a grudge. Who would have thought that he

would adjust his time for me?

He's finally opening up after all this time!

Because he was too suspicious of me, in the past four months, i've tried my best to avoid sending

letters to Shaka. i did better what he would've expected of me, and of course i decided to distance

myself from him so it won't look suspicious if we ever get close in the future.

Why am i so clever?

I scooped up a portion of tuna and ate it to reward myself, "Bon Appétit."

"Argh argh! mercy!" Noah grunts in pain as i twisted his elbow.

With a cup of coffee in my hand, i glared at him seeing how he still dared to sneak an attack on me

even after training was over. We just got back from the mountain and the first thing he does is violence

against his teacher?

Am i being too generous lately?

"Noah, don't you ever get tired of trying to test my ability? Isn't 4 months of torture enough for you? Or

is this still about your lame tantrums?"

"S-Shut up let go of me!"

I released him. He caressed his arm and glared at me.

JoJo munches his food, "Yeah, what were you thinking? Captain has been giving us delicious food

always after training, at least be thankful for that."

I rolled my eyes, this glutton.

Noah barks back, pointing his finger at me. "Ha! Isn't that the same as bribing us to accept you?"

"I accept her," Jojo nonchalantly says and takes another bite.

Noah gives him a look of disbelief then proceeds to get validations from the others. Unfortunately, his

expectations failed when Easton and Liam just nodded along with JoJo.

"You all-! How can you trust that wench so easily?!" Noah raises his voice.

"She's our beta, isn't that natural? And even if you don't trust her, can't you see how we've all improved

after 4 months under her? She deserves the position." Liam says with a bored expression.

Nice one Liam!

I mean isn't that obvious? I've been coaching them sincerely, just what is Noah so dissatisfied with? Is

this still about the dormitory rooms?

"You're all brainwashed!"

"Noah,"

He stiffens, "W-What?!"

I smiled, i thought it would make him calmer but it did the opposite. He suddenly became more hostile

and took a step back. As i was confused, my eyebrow furrowed.

"Have i been too harsh on you these past months?" I asked.

Well if i think about it, Noah always received my wrath since he was always in punishment. Other than

torturing him, i can't see a single moment where we've talked or bonded properly as a squad.

Though forming relationships is taboo in my mission, it's usually easier to be sincere at times like this-

and it's not like i regretted anything after my missions anyway.

"That's right! You always punish me!"

JoJo mutters under his breath. "It's because you always don't take the training seriously, how can you

blame beta Venus?"

"Shut up kid! i wasn't talking to you!"

JoJo stuck his tongue out. "I'm not a kid! i'm just 16!"

"Exactly dumbass, you're a minor!"

Their bickerings went for a while so I have just leisurely gone back to my coffee. Dealing with Noah can

come tomorrow since i have a more important task to do after this lunch.

After all, a beta's most important task is to stick with his/her alpha.

As soon as i finished my cup, i stood up from my seat and went ahead towards my duty. It was the

same as everyday. I would go to Alpha Derek's office after i've done my parole across the borders,

other than pack business, there was nothing we talked about even if we were together.

I just stood by his side and did what i have to do as a beta, just like i planned to do.

"Venus, did you find the information i told you to get?" Alpha Derek says, while scanning through a

document.

"Yes Alpha,"

He wanted me to find information about recent reports regarding the Great Five Packs. Fortunately,

since i've done hundreds of missions in the past. I knew more than just one. I had so many connections

to prominent people that the most beneficial relationship i formed was with the information guild master.

Since he gave me such a difficult task, i had no choice but to use this chance- since i didn't want to

waste time asking people about the information.

As they say, don't work hard, work smarter!

I was sure nothing could go wrong when i handed him the document, but as soon as he saw the front

page. He immediately slammed it on the desk in anger.

"Where did you get this?!"

Why is he getting angry? I looked at the front page and saw the guild's logo and name. Is he

displeased with the guild?

I returned my gaze on him and my eyebrow furrowed in curiosity, "What's wrong Alpha? you haven't

read it yet. Could it be that you... don't like us doing business with the Rohan Information Guild?"

"Did anybody say Rohan?" A familiar voice says.

I know that voice. I followed the voice and it led me to the room's window beside us. I couldn't hide my

shock when i saw the man i've killed smiling so sheepishly in my presence.

It's that guy from the cabin. Why is he here? I remember stabbing him directly in the heart!

Shit. What if he expose me?

As if he read my mind, he strided with a playful expression towards me. A scrutiny of mockery

displayed in his eyes, "So this must be your new beta? I've heard the rumors my friend. She's quite a

tough one."

Alpha Derek sighs, "Seff what are you doing? Get out."

"Don't be so cold man! i just got here! And i'm just here to greet a little friend of mine who i've met in

strange... circumstances?" Seff eyes me up and down.

This arshole, he's going to snitch on me!

When he got an inch closer to my face, i was ready to head bang him to death when Alpha Derek

suddenly pulls me back behind him. What is Alpha Derek doing? I couldn't understand why he did that novelbin

so i just kept my mouth shut.

Alpha Derek growls, "Get back!"

"Woah Woah!" Seff says in surprise. "What are you getting hostile for?"

"Have you met her without my permission before?"

Seff smirks, "Why do i need your permission? as i've said. Your beta and i have some kind of fated

relationship with each other. Right Venus? After all we've been through, you're still angry at me?"

This bastard, what the hell is he spouting now?!

Seff tries to take a closer step to me but Alpha Derek refused again. He stops Seff by placing his huge

hand to his chest in a hurry, "She's my beta now, haven't we talked about this before? Don't make

unnecessary trouble and go back!"

For a second, i saw Seff's eyes turning into rage before he went back to his usual self. He sighs

disbelief, "Derek, do consider her opinion okay? what if she's the one who called me here?"

What?!

I couldn't believe what he was trying to pull. He was silently signaling me to cooperate or else. Seeing

that i was at a disadvantage, i had no choice but to surrender for now.

Let's just hear what this psycho has to say.

I smiled. "It's fine Alpha Derek. I did summon him for some private matters."

Alpha Derek eyes's widens, "So you've been really meeting him before?"

"It's... a bit complicated."

All of a sudden, Seff wrapped his arm across my shoulder. I wanted to beat him to death by then, but i

didn't want to risk exposing my identity for now.

Seff grins "It's really not that complicated, she's one of my dearest customers in Rohan guild, how can i

not meet her when she asks me to?"

My eyes widened.

What? He's with the Rohan Guild?
