Chapter 26: The Beautiful Kitchen Staff

On the way to the main kitchen, I randomly decided to visit my squad since I needed to check how their

duties were being handled and see if there was any problem I had to know before the Alpha blame me

for being negligent again.

I mean, I could ask them through mind link, but at the same time, I also wanted to spoil them a bit with

food since I'm already on my way there.

My squad's headquarters was on the opposite way of the kitchen so I had to run hastily. When I got

there, I didn't hesitate and opened the door.

There, I saw Noah half-naked in front of me. When he noticed my presence, he quickly covered his

body. His blonde curls were still wet from showering, so I guessed that they just got back. Strangely

though, Liam was still working out while Jojo just looked happy to see me.

I closed the door behind me.

"Beta Venus?!" Noah exclaims in shock. "W..What are you doing at this time of hour?!"

I crossed my arm, "Nothing, I just came to ask if there's something that needs my attention. Are you all

done with your duties for the day?"

"You could've just asked via mindlink!"

Jojo raised his hand, "Noah neglected guard duty, so he was reinstated for tomorrow to take rounds!"

"Shut up!" Noah growls. "Someone was arrogant so I taught him a quick lesson. Whatever I already

informed alpha Derek."

Ha... I'm not even surprised anymore at this point. I just sighed quietly. That wasn't even the most

surprising part.

I stared at how Liam focused on his workout. His sweat covered him as he did sit-ups, his perfectly

toned muscles clenching at each slouch.

I squinted my eyes in bewilderment.

I still can't believe that Liam changed so much after all these months. He had the best development

amongst them. Just what did Alpha Derek do to him that he suddenly became the hard-working type?

I cleared my throat to make him notice me.

He finally sees me and stops what he was doing, "Beta Venus? what are you doing here?"

"I can't believe you, didn't I tell you not to over-exert yourself? You'll get too much muscles if you work

out so much."

He just smiled in reply. As usual, he was the type to remain quiet. I didn't bother with his choices any

further and genuinely asked what I came here to do.

I sigh.

"Anyway," I added, "I'm on my way to the main kitchen. If you want something, I could ask them to

bring it to you all later on."

"I'm good," -Liam.

"I want cheesy beef nachos! Make it spicy!" -Jojo.

"Can't you ask alpha to bring us a human five-star chef? This is really annoying." -Noah.

I was on the verge of smacking Noah in the head when Easton got out of the bathroom. His wet, brown

hair dripped water down on his body. He was only wearing a towel below his waist, and since he wasn't

expecting me, he jumped in surprise.

"Beta Venus? What are you doing here? does alpha know you're here?" He says, covering his body

like a troubled teenage girl.

Ha... Should I just feed them poison?

I rolled my eyes, "Enough yapping, I'm going to the kitchen. Do you want food or not?"

"Did alpha allow you to give us food?"

"Why are you even asking that? He doesn't have a say in this. I'm the squad's captain, am I not? I have

every right to indulge all of you in something."

"I don't know about that-"

When I glared at him, he immediately changes direction. "-i mean, sure why not, I'll just have a

medium-rare steak. After all, it's not every day that we can request food in the main kitchen."

That's right. We weren't really allowed to have luxurious food from the start. I only happen to eat good

food every day since I became Crescent Moon pack's beta. That's why I thought of them when I

realized I was going to the main kitchen.

They've eaten food portions till this day. They've worked hard. They deserve the reward.

"Okay, don't fall asleep till the food comes. Got that?"

They all nodded in sync.

When I arrived at the front door of the kitchen, I heard several people laughing, their high-pitched

voices echoed as they spouted word from word. Since it was also my first time there, I couldn't help

wonder what could be happening inside for them to be so lively.

As I opened the door, I was welcomed with a bright light that almost blinded my eyesight. I scrunched

my face, fully aware that the kitchen's light was just too scintillating.

Exactly when my eyes adjusted to what was in front of me, my eyes widened in surprise when I saw

several beautiful she-wolves staring right back at me. They were wearing aprons as some were leaning

on the table while the rest was cooking at their stations.

"Am... in the right place?" I stifled, bewildered that such beauties surrounded me.

I mean... It's always alpha Derek refilling the food supplies... so maybe that's why he was always doing

"Hi!" One blonde girl came up to me with a cheerful voice, she giggled. "beta Venus! what seems to be

your business here?"

"You know me?"

"Oh, come on! Everyone knows you! you're always with Alpha Derek, are you not?"

"I guess so?"

"Come here come here!"

I didn't know what was happening. She just randomly decided to put her palms on my shoulder, forcing

me to sit by at the largest table in the room. It was the table filled with she-wolves, all of them

displaying their curiosity in their eyes as they gawk at me.

"I'm Sera," The blonde girl says as she places a glass of water in front of me. "As you can see, we're

the kitchen staff in Crescent Moon Pack. Do forgive the others for not welcoming you properly, beta

Venus, since it's dinner time. The ladies have to prepare sets of meals for everyone."

I nod.

"It's fine. I'm just here to get a food supply for Alpha Derek. He added that he wants double the amount

of groceries to be taken to our place. That's all."

They started to giggle amongst themselves, that it confused me. Is something on my face? What's so

funny about what I said?

"What is it? what's so funny?" I muttered in bafflement.

"Be honest," Sera comes closer, "In your stay here, did you and Alpha... you know?"

Oh.

When I realized that it was about me staying in Alpha Derek's place, I was even more confused at that

point. I said firmly, "We what? I'm his beta. Isn't it natural that I stay beside him?"

I clasped the glass of water between my hands and carefully took a sip.

"No! that's not what I meant!" Sera pouts, "I mean, sex! Haven't you had sex with him yet?"

Startled at the sudden bold statement from a stranger, the water inside of my mouth pours unwillingly to

my surroundings. The ladies around me squealed, and they all hurried to assist me in my wet clothes.

"Oh, dear! I'm sorry, I didn't expect you to be so shocked!"

I can't believe it.. to think that even the kitchen staff knew of my failures! I've been trying to get him

close to me, but I still haven't yielded a good result. No matter what I did, he was still keeping a

distance from me.

Ryan would laugh at me when he knew this!

["How can you call yourself a top ranker when you can't even seduce a man?"] Ryan mocking face

I gasped.

"You're right. Just as you said, I am a failure." I said, my voice low from frustration.

Sera raises her hand in defense, "No, that's not what I meant-"

I quickly grabbed her shoulders hastily and said with complete determination, "Tell me! How do women

seduce an alpha!"
