The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 968

Chapter 968

From the cradle, Charles was spoon-fed a litany of expectations.

“You’re a boy. You’ve got to hustle, take over the family business. Your mom can’t have any more kids because of you, so you gotta be good, show gratitude, and be the perfect child.”

For over two decades, she complied with these expectations – until today, when her mother dropped the bombshell. novelbin

The Clintons had a son. She could revert to being a girl. She could finally leave the Clinton family. Heck, she was even forbidden from competing with a half-brother she’d never met! Charles was a whirlwind of emotions.

Just before clocking out, Brittany received a call from Hugh. They made lunch plans, and after mulling it over, Brittany gave Isaac a heads-up.

Isaac didn’t fancy the idea of Brittany meeting Hugh but didn’t want to seem possessive, so he reluctantly agreed.

Brittany picked up some thoughtful gifts and headed to the restaurant, where Hugh was already waiting with a young, elegant woman by his side-radiant and absolutely stunning.

“Hey, Hugh.”

“You made it.” Hugh rose to his feet.

“Got something for you.” Brittany handed over the gifts, earning praises from Hugh for her ever-present politeness.

“And who’s this?”

“My fiancée,” Hugh introduced with a smile. “Amber, meet Brittany, a friend from college.”

“Ms. Dustin.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Brittany took a seat and ordered a drink. “So, when’s the big day? You better send me an invite.”

“Will do.”

Hugh had reached out to Brittany for her help in designing an engagement ring.

Brittany readily agreed.

Hugh was generous, offering a substantial fee

“Hugh, this is too much.”

Hugh had been saving up for years, but real estate in Craneville wasn’t any cheaper than in Imperial City, and Brittany didn’t want him to overextend himself.

Hugh reassured her with a smile. “I’ve got some savings tucked away; money’s not an issue.”

In front of his fiancée, Brittany felt it wasn’t her place to protest further.

After lunch, Amber left first, and Hugh walked Brittany back to her studio. They caught up on old times.

Hugh had snagged a great job offer right out of college and had been climbing the ladder in Craneville ever since. His fiancée was also well-known in Craneville-a wealthy heiress in her own right.

Brittany was genuinely happy for him. “Hugh, always knew you’d make it big.”

Back in college, Hugh’s talent was unmistakable. They had worked part-time at an ad agency where Hugh’s pitches were legendary. His exceptional skills were highly valued by the agency, which allowed him to work while studying, an arrangement that was granted unusually. He was paid a salary that was three times higher than that of his peers.

Rumor had it the agency tried to keep him on board, but Craneville’s offer was too good to refuse.

Hugh was a looker but kept a low profile, mostly because he had a steady girlfriend since childhood.

Brittany assumed they were still an item, but time had other plans-a separation of eight years had changed everything.

“Hugh, you and Caitlin…”

“We split,” Hugh spread his hands. “Long-distance.”

Brittany sighed sympathetically.

Back at the studio, they discussed the design. Hugh had only one request- simple and understated, yet exquisite.

Brittany agreed without hesitation.

After signing the contract, Brittany personally saw Hugh out.

“Hugh, I’ll have the draft ready in three days, I promise.”
