Inside the chamber, the woman was looking puzzled. She twisted slowly this way and that, but it was not real attempts to free herself; it was more that her body was feeling funny and she did not know why. Slowly, a change came over her face. The worry and fear were fading away, being replaced by equally as basic emotions but of a more pleasant type. Her eyes closed and her twisting became more sinuous, more sexually inspired. “Once again the DNA changes were too much for the body,” Sorren said. “So close, and yet so much work still to be done.”
He sighed and turned to go. “Remove her,” he told his assistant. “Get rid of her. She’s of no further use to us.”
