Chapter 25 Why?

She can’t let him face it all alone! At lease she could not let him face Julian and Vivian alone!

When she thought of this, a trace of determination slid across Sarah’s face. She turned around and walked out of the room.

When he heard the footsteps at the door disappear, Christian opened his eyes and frowned slightly. He turned his head to look at the sky outside the window and a faint sneer appeared on his lips. His deep and bottomless eyes flashed with a complicated light. No one could see what he was thinking at the moment.

Sarah first went to the bathroom and finally found a cleaning tool. Then she took it and went to Christian’s room again.

When she walked in, he was still sitting by the bed like before. Seeing her walk in, his eyes lit up.

Sarah looked at the things scattered on the ground not far away. She put the cleaning tools aside first and walked to Christian. She squatted down beside him and held his arm.

“I will help you to the bed. The ground is cold…”

Christian looked at her silently and did not refuse. Supporting the bed with his hands, he sat on the bed with Sarah’s help.

After settling Christian down, Sarah first helped wheelchair up. Looking at the remote control button on the handrail, she tested it with her fingers. She found that it was still useful. She smiled at Christian. “Looks like it’s quite strong!” She pushed the wheelchair to Christian’s bed as she spoke. She looked at him and said.

“You can’t do this to it in the future. It’s your most important friend now. If it doesn’t care about you, you won’t be able to move an inch…”

Christian looked at her silently. The expression on his face eased a little, but it was still cold and hard.

“You really talk a lot…”

Sarah smiled. She knew that this was his personality. She did not mind at all. Seeing that he was fine, she started to clean up the broken glass on the floor.

Christian leaned against the headboard. He kept silently looking at her.

Sarah finished tidying up the debris on the floor and then took them all to the door. She even took out the frames of the tea table. She cleaned up the bedroom and then walked to Christian’s bedside.

“I have nothing to do today. I will go back first. You have a good rest.” After saying that, she picked up her bag and was about to leave.

“What exactly are you doing here today?” Christian looked at her and asked coldly.

Sarah was stunned by his question and turned to look at him. “What’s wrong?”

“Tell me, when are you going to settle the divorce procedures with me?”

Sarah thought for a moment and looked at him to ask. “Didn’t we agree that it would be three months later?”

Christian’s eyes lit up. He looked at the sky outside.

“Jayson will be back very late tonight. There are vegetables in the kitchen. Help me make dinner before you leave.”

“Okay!” Sarah agreed without thinking. His health was not convenient, which was an indisputable fact. Even if he was a stranger, she should stay and take care of him. Not to mention, he was her legal husband now!

“Then you should rest well. I’ll go and cook first.” Sarah said as she was about to walk out of the room.

“Wait a minute! Help me sit in the wheelchair first.” Seeing that she was about to leave, Christian called out to her again.

Sarah walked back and helped him sit in the wheelchair first. Feeling that there was no more problem, she walked out of the room and went straight to the kitchen.

Although Sarah’s family was not rich, she had been spoiled by her parents since she was a kid. But since she lost her father nine years ago, she had started to learn to do housework. So cooking dinner was not a difficult thing for her. The things in the fridge were very complete. Sarah took out a few vegetables and meat. She quickly made dinner.

After about an hour of work, Sarah finally brought dinner to the table. She set up the chopsticks and wanted to call Christian to have dinner in the study, but she found that he had already come out in a wheelchair.

Seeing him sit properly at the dining table, Sarah said slowly, “Dinner is ready, you can eat slowly. I will go back first.”

“Okay!” Christian picked up the chopsticks and nodded, then began to eat quietly.

Sarah saw that he did not say anything else. She hesitated a little and said, “My mom said that our wedding was delayed by a week. She asked me to communicate with you about it. Is that so?”

“Yes, come over after breakfast tomorrow!” Christian nodded faintly.

“Got it.” Sarah nodded and walked to the door with her bag. She changed her shoes and quickly left Christian’s apartment.

Hearing the sound of the living room door closing, Christian’s hand holding the chopsticks paused for a moment in air. A complicated light flashed in his deep eyes.

This night was the most painful day for Sarah in nine years.

Her life had a tragic turning point on this day!

She hid her body under the blanket and buried her face deep in the pillow, crying enough!

All the grievances and emotions she had suffered in the past nine years had been vented in an instant!

She couldn’t figure it out. She really couldn’t figure it out!

She did not know what was wrong with her. Why did she love that man for nine years, or couldn’t compare to Vivian?

She wasn’t ugly. She was neither fat nor thin. She listened to Julian’s every word. The next morning, Sarah got out of bed. Last night, she tossed and turned all night. She only fell asleep when it was almost dawn. However, her mind was too heavy.

There was a slight sound in the living room. She woke up. Because she was worried about her mother, she first ran to the living room to take a look. She found that her mother was already making breakfast. Seeing that her mother was fine, she went back to the bedroom to wash up.

When they were eating breakfast, Samantha looked at her and reminded, “Sarah, you don’t need to go to work for this week. Prepare your wedding with Christian properly…”
