Chapter 13: You saw it yourself, didn't you?

He attempted to rush over and pull her out of the flames, but another ceiling fell which hit him hard on the leg.

Zac lost balance and hit his head hard on the ground.

Then he was instantly consumed by flames and smoke.

It took two complete days before Zac woke up.

He was struck in the head so hard that he almost didn't wake up.

Thaddeus was so enraged that he almost had a heart attack.

He thought that the daughters from the Williams family had always brought harm to his son, and now, Zac nearly died.

Thaddeus was relieved when Zac opened his eyes. novelbin

However, the scars and severe burns on different parts of Zac's body did not escape Thaddeus’ eyes.

Thaddeus was enraged when he thought about how tragic the situation his son had been.

What irritated him even more was that the first question Zac asked when as soon as he opened his eyes was about Sophie!

"Where is she? Did you saved her..."

Thaddeus could not believe his eyes.

"You're pinned in that hospital bed, and you still managed to think of her? You should think of yourself! Are you stupid? You're willing to risk your life for the sake of a dead girl? Have you ever considered

how your father would live if something happened to you? You're such an inconsiderate son! I really wanted to throw you into Africa out of sight if I hadn't only had you as a son” Despite the bunch of words that Thaddeus had said, Zac could only recall two of them.

Dead girl.

He struggled to sit up as he coughed loudly and asked, "What happened to Sophie? She's all right, isn't she? Is she still alive? Did you manage to save her? Of course, you did!"

Zac became very excited.

His pale face instantly turned bright red as all kinds of tubes inserted into his body got off because of his reckless movements.

He just woke up, and now, he was desperately trying to get out of bed.

Thaddeus, who was in a wheelchair, panicked and quickly called the doctors and nurses to press Zac back.

"Sophie is dead! Don't think about her in the future anymore! How could she be alive when her body was smashed by two pillars on fire and got burned?"

Zac gritted his teeth, and his eyes welled up with tears, but he still refused to admit it.

"I don’t think so.You're lying, dad! All of you are making things up! I'd like to meet her! Where is she?"

His rage filled everyone who heard what he had said with grief.

Even his father, Thaddeus, couldn't help but feel moved.

Thaddeus genuinely cared for his son.

His love for Zac would always prevail no matter how angry he was.

"Zac, I am not lying to you! You saw it yourself, didn't you? Saving her was impossible to begin with because of the size of the fire, not to mention the fact that she was in a coma.”

"No, dad. That's impossible. You're not telling the truth! Where is she? I'd like to see her!"

"Zac, your body..."

"I want to see her!"
