Chapter 5: Sophie, you can't!

Zac didn't go home, and instead went straight to the hospital.

Edith was still in the hospital.

She saw Zac come back and couldn't help but jump into his arms excitedly.

"Zac, you are back, I miss you so much."

"It's good that we will never be separated again"

He stroked the back of her head, and his voice was softer than ever before.

"Did you really divorce with her?"

"Hmm."

"Great! Zac, I knew you still love me.Then, when will we get married?"

Just as Zac hesitated and didn't know how to answer her, his cell phone suddenly rang.

The call suddenly interrupted Edith, and it made her angry.

Zac answered the phone, but what the other line said changed his mood.

"Mr.Madden, I just received the news.Your wife, no, your ex-wife had a serious car accident.She is now being taken to the hospital!" novelbin

His assistant's voice came from the cellphone.

Edith could hear it clearly, and a proud smile flashed across her face.

But soon, it disappeared.

Zac hung up the phone and went out.

Edith stopped him.

"Zac, where are you going? You haven't answered my question.When will we get married?"

"Sophie had an accident.I'm going to see her!"

He pushed Edith away from him.

However, she took his arm and said with a disappointed face, "Why? You and Sarah are divorced, you have nothing to do with her!"

Zac suddenly felt that Edith acted very strange in front of him: "Edith, she is your sister! Your sister who also came from your mother's womb!"

"But the two of you are divorced! Why do you care about her? Why does it matter to you whether she lives or dies?" Edith said.

She still won't give up until she could convince Zac to stay.

Zac looked colder, shook off his hand and ran out quickly.

Edith stood where she was, looking at her thrown hand, and gritted her teeth with anger.

Zac stood outside the operating room.

Zac stayed there for three hours before the doctor came out of the operating room.

He quickly stood up to greet him.

"Doctor, how is she?"

"The patient's head was severely damaged, her calf bone was fractured, her right rib was broken three times, and she was nearly stabbed the lung lobe.She is now temporarily safe."

Zac breathed a sigh of relief, but then the doctor added, "But the child in her womb with all the damage caused by the car accident will most likely die.But we will try our best.”

"What child?"

Zac felt something pierced his heart.

‘She's pregnant!’ ‘She didn't tell me anything! She is pregnant but dared to force me to divorce so hard!’

‘This damn woman! He gnashed his teeth with anger.”

The doctor was surprised: "Aren't you the husband? Why didn't you know she was pregnant?"

"Please save the child, save it!"

Zac said firmly.

A day later.

Sophie woke up from her pain, and the first thing she saw was Zac standing beside her bed.

His eyes were red, his face was very ugly, and his breath was frightening cold.

"What are you...What are you doing here?"

She asked in a hoarse voice.

Zac handed the water and straw to her and didn't answer.

She was in pain and she coughed badly, so she took two sips.

Her throat became much more comfortable.

"You are pregnant, why didn’t you tell me?"

He looked down at her and asked coldly.

Sophie's heart sank suddenly.

"My child, how is my child?"

She was eager to lift the quilt and check her stomach.

"The child is fine for the time being.

I am asking you, why didn't you tell me?"

"Why am I going to tell you? You'll just ask me to abort the child for Edith's sake."

She laughed wryly, and the bitterness in her heart directly spread to the tip of her tongue.

"Don't worry, we are already divorced.This child belongs to me alone.Whether it lives or dies, whether it goes or stays, it is my own business, and it has nothing to do with you!"

"You can't do anything to that child without my permission! That is also my child!"

"So, are you going to let me give birth to it?"

"You can't!"

Edith shouted out of nowhere.

She looked at Sophie angrily and resentfully.

"No one can give birth to Zac's child except me, so you can't!"
