Chapter 8
Chapter 8 – Moving On
LIAM
I sat in my office in my office yesterday after coming back from talking with Laura. It is at times like this
that I am not very proud of being the king of our species. Cheating and rejecting your goddess-given
mate, you can’t be more stupid than that. And Laura, fuck I loved my mate, but Laura is the most
beautiful woman I have ever seen.
At this moment I am in my car, driving to the hospital to pick up Laura and bring her home to my house.
M y mom has made sure to have a room with a joining bathroom ready for her, and also ordered the
necessary clothes including underwear sets. My mom is looking forward to meeting Laura and having
someone she can take care of. My mother is a sucker for making sure that the people around her are
feeling good. Something she put her time and soul into after my father, her mate, and husband died.
Driving up to the hospital and walk my way to Laura’s room and when I enter, the doc is there signing
her release papers. The doctor turns and bows when he sees that it is me.
“My King.”
“Doctor. Is she okay to leave?”
“Yes, but she needs to take it easy. And after running for 2 days in wolf form I strongly advise no
shifting until after she has given birth. I have talked with Laura about this. I have also given her some
vitamins to take and she needs to eat properly at least 3 full meals a day.”
“She is going to be staying at my house, and my mother will be there to look out for her.” The doctor
chuckles.
“Then I know that Laura will be in the best care she can be.”
The doctor hands me Laura’s papers bows and leaves. I look at Laura who is dressed in light blue
sweatpants and a matching hoodie. I can’t help to think that she looks adorable. Laura stands up to fast
and almost falls, but I am fast to grab her.
“Arg. I stood up to fast. Thank you.” I chuckle
“You are fine beautiful.” I chuckle again when she blushes.
We leave the room walking slowly towards the exit when someone loses control over an empty bed
that comes close to driving into Laura. Reacting fast I put my arms around her and turn around so
when the bed hits us it is my back and not Laura’s still weakened body or worse her belly. Someone is
fast to get the bed away and apologize, but right now I don’t care, my attention is on the beautiful
woman standing safe in my arms.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, I am, are you okay.” She looks at me with worry in her beautiful blue eyes.
I make a fast decision and in one fast move I lift her up in bridal style and carry her out to my car. She

“Your highness, what are you doing.”
“Laura, I have told you over and over to call me Liam, you are going to stay at my house for a while, so
please call me Liam. I will go crazy being called My King or your highness every time I see you. And I
am just making sure you don’t get hurt further. You have already almost fallen and even run over and
we have not even left the hospital yet. So be nice and let me make sure you make it home safely.”
Laura looks at me with a glint of humor in her eyes. And laughs softly at me. I shake my head, continue
walking to my car, and gently put her into the passenger seat, before going to the driver’s side and
driving us home.
LAURA
When we reach Liam’s gigantic house he insists to carry me inside and to my room. I gasp, I can’t help
it, the room is amazing, it was huge with big windows showing a big beautiful garden. Along one wall is
a big king-size bed and in a corner is a couch setup. Along the other long wall is a big TV and a door
on each side. One leads into a walk-in closet where someone has put all sorts of different clothes into.
The other door leads into the most beautiful bathroom I have ever seen, with both a shower and on the
other side o f the room a big bathtub.
‘Wauw, I don’t know what to say. This room is amazing.” Liam has put me down to sit on the bed and
sits next to me.
“It’s a nice room, where you can relax without having to worry about anyone disturbing you.”
“Thank you, Liam.” He smiles at me, but before he can say more an older but very beautiful woman
enters, I am guessing this must be his mother.
“Aren’t you just a beautiful young woman? Hello dear, my name is Rosa and I am Liam’s mother.” She
says confirming my suspicion.
“Hello, a pleasure to meet you, your highness.” She is after all the old queen.
“Oh dear please call me Rosa. No formalities are needed in this house.” I smile and blush a little.
“Okay, thank you, Rosa.” She smiles brightly at me and leaves the room but jot before telling me that
lunch will be served in an hour.
“Your mother seems really sweet.” He smiles.
“She is. And she loves to rake care of people.” I smile and look around in the beautiful room.
“Okay. I will go let you rest, I will be back when lunch is ready.” He stands up and begins to walk away.
“Liam?” He turns to look at me. But get cold feet.
“Never mind. It’s nothing.” I try to sound like I mean it, but he looks right through it and comes back.
“What is it, Laura.” I bite my lip and whisper.
“I was just wondering if you could. I mean I know I need to do it so I can move on. I just don’t know if I
can handle it if I am alone when I accept Miles’s rejection.” Liam looks at me with soft eyes and
reachest o hold my hand in his.
“I will stay for as long as you need Laura.” | nod my head.
“I can’t go back to my pack.”
“You don’t have to Laura. You can always become a member of The Royal Moon Pack.”
“Do you mean that?”
“Yes Laura, 1 mean that.” I nod my head again and let go of a heavy breath.
“I Laura Perl, member of the Midnight Pack, accepts Alpha Miles’s rejection, and denounces the pack
to b e a free wolf.”
The second I am done saying the words that will set me free, the most excruciating pain runs through
my
body and ends when it reaches my chest. I cry out in pain, trying to hold it in but it is too much and I
lose all sense of where I am and who I am with.
I do not know for how long I feel like this but I am slowly coming back to my senses, seeing that now I
am sitting tugged into the strong arms belonging to Liam. I look up and into his amazing silver eyes.
“Are you okay Laura?” | nod my head.
“I think so.” He smiles softly at me he lays me down on the bed and puts the blanket over me.
“Try rest a bit beautiful. I will come and get you later.” “Okay. Thanks, Liam. For everything.”
“Your welcome Laura.” I hear the door open and close and fall asleep.
