Chapter 12 The Madam is done

David quickly answered it, parking the car in a safe area

“Boss, Master Lucas has caused trouble again.”

Henry’s eyes dimmed.

Evelyn could clearly sense his anger.

Lucas Wilson was the illegitimate child of his sister, conceived before her marriage. Although he was a

troublemaker, the old master and Henry cared him deeply.

“If you have something to do, go ahead. I can take a cab back home.”

Evelyn stepped out of his embrace and got out of the car.

Henry didn’t refuse, closed the door, and let David arrange for a driver from their household to pick up

Evelyn.

Watching the car gradually move away, Evelyn turned back and glanced at the not-so-distant hospital.

She still felt a bit unwilling to leave like this.

She had suffered for a lifetime, and all she had done to William was to slap him. It felt like she let them

off too easily…

***

Inside the car.

A ringing phone broke the silence.

David answered it, trembling uncontrollably.

“Boss.”

David swallowed nervously, hesitating to speak.

“When the driver arrived, the Madam was already gone, seems like… she went back to the hospital.”

Henry’s eyes narrowed. “Bring her back.”

Those were undoubtedly the three most terrifying words David had ever heard.

All he could think was, “It’s over. The Madam is done for this time!”

There was a bridge on the east side of the hospital, the route William had to take to leave.

Every time he turned towards that bridge, William would perform a cool drift, executing a perfect spin.

Evelyn, well aware of his habits, directly bought several medium-sized nails, timed it perfectly, and

scattered them on the road, causing the nails to smoothly puncture William’s tires.

It took a lot of time to avoid the security cameras, and by the time Evelyn got back to the villa, it was

dark.

Sitting on the sofa, she felt somewhat uneasy.

Today’s events had clearly passed a crisis, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had missed

something.

At this moment, in a dimly lit bar, a group of thugs knelt on the floor.

A boy with a look resembling Henry’s was crouched at the forefront, glancing occasionally at Henry.

In the past, when he made mistakes, his uncle would scold him a bit, but this time, although he might

have gone too far, he had been punished for half an hour. It should be enough by now.

“Uncle!”

“Shut up.” Henry shot a glance at him.

The thugs behind trembled.

Lucas was also taken aback, sensing that something was off with his uncle today.

He sought help, looking at David.

David shrugged helplessly. He was a victim too, all because of Evelyn..

The phone rang, and David seemed to grasp a lifeline.

“Boss, the butler said Madam should be back.” He lowered his voice.

Henry glanced at him, pinching the cigarette, then he stood up and walked out…

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

“Uncle.” Lucas stood up, trying to please. “Can I go now?”

Henry paid no attention to him, only stopping at the door before adding, “Make him clean the old

mansion three times, overnight.”

This instruction was clearly for David.

Lucas wailed. “David, what’s wrong with my uncle? Does he know how big the old mansion is?”

The largest estate in the whole of Memphis was The Wilson Family’s mansion. If they included the

indoor area… Lucas was at a loss.

David was even more troubled. Since Boss had given the order, it meant he had to supervise Lucas.

Who knows how many nights it would take.

Evelyn knew that today’s events must have made Henry uncomfortable. She dared not sleep and lay

on the sofa, waiting.

Just as she was falling into a daze, Henry returned.

“Henry.” She automatically ignored the anger in his eyes.

“Are you hungry?” She rubbed her stomach. “I’m still waiting for you to have dinner together.. My

stomach has been growling.”

“What do you want to eat? I think I can only cook noodles.”

In her previous life, Evelyn learned some excellent cooking skills to please William. Now, suddenly

showcasing those skills might raise Henry’s suspicions, so she had to pretend.

Thinking about a simple and delicious noodle recipe, Evelyn didn’t notice the man’s fiery gaze fixed on

her.

One room, two people, three meals, four seasons; someone stands by you at dusk.

This was the image that appeared in his mind when he first saw her at the hospital, and now it was

suddenly coming true. How could he not be fascinated?

Unfortunately, all this beauty was buried under deception. She still couldn’t forget that man, even

though she could now act freely in front of him.

“Evelyn.”

Henry, without hesitation, crossed Evelyn and pinned her against the kitchen’s side door.
