Chapter 16 The Warehouse

Valerie suppressed the surging feelings in her heart and maintained her expressionless face as she returned to her room.

She closed the room door and stood there still. She stood there in a daze.

She gasped for air and tried to calm herself down.

When she totally calmed down, she walked to the desk, took an adhesive tape from her school, and pieced the papers little by little.

Occasionally, she would stop and stare at her homework in a daze.

Then she came back to her senses and continued what she was doing.

Her calm appearance made Jayvion, who was peeking at the door, feel a little shocked.

Reyna took a deep breath.

“Jayvion, I came to ask you where Valerie’s room is. Tell me. And I will send her some desserts.”

“Yes. Mrs. Horton.”

Jayvion smiled. He felt relieved in his heart.

He thought that Reyna would stop him from bringing Valerie desserts.

Reyna took away the plate in Jayvion’s hands and chose a strawberry cake. It was the children’s favorite.

There were the most strawberry cakes in the fridge.

Jayvion led Reyna to Valerie’s room.

Jayvion led Valerie toward a remote room in the house. Reyna’s expression turned from calm to angry.

“Jayvion, I’m asking you to take me to Valerie’s room, not to the warehouse.”

Reyna felt dizzy. She staggered.

Zoe had two rooms. One was her bedroom and the other was her cloakroom.
