Chapter 8 Before Melanie gave Viola the items, Eugene woke up. He said in a deep voice, “Is it solved?”
“Yes. That driver has taken full responsibility and has contacted the insurance company. Melanie walked straight to Eugene and unscrewed the cap of the water bottle she was holding before handing it to him.
Her voice was a little softer than usual at work. “I have also contacted the person in charge of the banquet. I'll send you home later.”
Melanie was thorough, attentive, and meticulous.
Eugene sat there and drank the water. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed.
Melanie and Eugene looked so harmonious and natural that they seemed like the perfect. couple. Viola watched them silently for a while before she stepped forward.
She lowered her head and blamed herself for what happened. Her voice was laced with some indistinguishable emotions. “Mr. Scott, I’m sorry. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be hurt.”
Eugene casually put the water bottle aside and waved to her. “Come here.”
Viola hesitated for a moment before going over and sitting next to him.
Eugene put his injured hand in front of her and said in a gentle tone, “Were you scared?” Viola did not speak and lowered her head.
Eugene chuckled softly and gear lifted her head. He coaxed her. “I’m not scared, so what are you afraid of?”
Viola puffed up her cheeks, glared at him angrily, and mumbled, “I’m afraid you'll be in pain.” Her voice was very soft, but Melanie heard it clearly.
Melanie lowered her eyes and looked at the bottle of water that Eugene chucked aside. “Who is Eugene’s family?” The nurse from the emergency department came over with an X- film. She glanced at the trio and looked at Melanie, handing over the X-ray to her.

“This is an X-ray of his wrist bone. Take it to the doctor.”
Viola, who was about to stand up, froze and slowly sat back down.
She looked at Melanie with a forced smile, as if nothing was wrong-
Melanie looked at Viola and was about to speak when Eugene casually said, “Take it to the doctor. | have something to say to Viola.”
Viola stared at Melanie’s back, looking upset. Eugene asked in a low voice, “Why are you upset now?”
“| just think that you and Melanie seem to be a better match.” After Viola finished speaking, she immediately shut up and looked at Eugene cautiously.

This was a test. She wanted to hear Eugene's answer.
Eugene was silent for a moment. He sneered and answered casually, “Me and Melanie? | hate how boring and lifeless she is.” Viola blinked. Eugene said something to her, which made her smile innocently.
Melanie stood at the corner. She wanted to give Viola the extra water bottle in her hand, but now her body felt frozen in place. Eugene said that she was lifeless and extremely boring.
There was nothing wrong with Eugene’s hand. He just needed to rest for a few days at most. When Melanie returned with the medicine, Eugene and Viola made up again.
Viola could not conceal the joy in her eyes, which reminded Melanie that what she overheard earlier was real.novelbin
On the way back, Melanie did not say anything. She sent Viola back home before driving Eugene back.
The car stopped in the underground parking lot. Melanie took out the car keys and asked calmly, “Are you in a relationship with her?”
when Viola got out of the car earlier, Melanie saw her kissing Eugene’s cheek.
Eugene did not deny it. “Yes.”
“Since when?”
“Just now.” Eugene added, “She was jealous of you, so | had to coax her.”
Melanie clenched the car keys. “Why is she jealous of me?”
Eugene looked at her black dress and said, “Don’t wear black anymore. It doesn’t suit you.”
Melanie pursed her lips.
Was it because it did not suit her, or was it because Viola did not like it?
