Chapter 26: ESSENCE PART2

"So Abayo said Papa is in a place called the white world, all we have to do now is type it on the

keyboard and take off." Gboyega says as his body shakes, it was evening as they all decided to take a

break to cool their mind off.

"Where did all of you go Ayo? At the party?" Richard asked, what happened had still been disturbing

him.

"Wasn't that you? A huge wave of energy was coming our way, I picked up it before it came to me and

escaped." Ayo says swiftly.

"I'm that powerful." Richard says to himself proudly and chuckles.

"Let's focus guys, are we ready? Ngozi asked, she looked at everyone of them they were quite scared.

"I wish I could come with you." Linda says as she gently comes out of hiding.

"I'll be right back guys." Gboyega moves to Linda. "Nothing is going to happen." Gboyega kneels as he

talks to her.

"I don't want to lose you too." Linda says, she hugs Gboyega tightly not wanting to let go.

"I'm going to be fine but you can't come, it's dangerous and someone needs to stay at home." Gboyega

says softly, he slowly moves away from her and joins the team. "Let's go." Gboyega says and sighs

deeply. They all wear the head bands and grab a extra for Papa, Richard's set it and they all suddenly

vanish.

They all suddenly find themselves in a white room filled with nothing, they all wander around for a bit

looking for cluse but they can't find anything. All of a sudden Papa appears floating in the air was the

black and white wolfs around him.

"Papa!" Ayo says and runs toward Papa but huge wave pushes him back to the team and Essence

suddenly appears beside Papa.

"You guys don't seem to get it, leave me alone! You all will never understand." Essence says firmly.

"What we understand is that you're keeping a poor old man hostage, it's not fair." Ngozi says softly, she

gently moves closer to him.

"Old?" Essence chuckles really hard. "You don't know anything about this man."

"We're not leaving without him." Richard says confidently.

"Readers! I think it's time you know a little bit more about the villain of this story." Essence says and

laughs manically, he then snaps his fingers and a series of Essence life suddenly hits the mind of the

"I need powers, it's not easy living in a world where there is constant fight between people with powers

and humans that are pathetic." Essence pleads in front of Papa, he had just lost his father after a

Supernatural killed him, Essence managed to escape but suddenly bumps in with Papa.

"I would like to help you, I'm not a supernatural but I can still help you out." Papa says gently.

"Really? How? I need anything even if it's telekinesis I'll take what I can get, we're all trying to survive."

Essence pleads, he was desperate.

"Fine, we start next week. What's your name?" Papa asked.

"Elliot, it's Elliot." Essence swiftly says, happy that he is going to be a Supernatural.

A week passed, Papa and Essence had gotten closer, Essence was always with him and Papa treated

him like a son. It was finally time for Essence to gain his powers at first he was scared but remained

positive. Papa leads him to a office and John the owner of Cale factory meets up with them.

"Is this him?" John says as he gulps his saliva.

"Yes John." Papa says and the three enter the building, in front of them is a huge machine that has the

shape of a oven.

"Is this it?" Essence asked as he steps back a bit scared.

"It's okay." Papa says, he drags Essence to a corner to comfort him. "I know you're scared, everyone

gets really scared when they do things like this but I can assure you that you're going to be just fine."

Papa says and hugs Essence.

"I trust you." Essence says.

"You can always trust me." Papa says, he let's go of Essence. Essence gently walks inside the

machine and finds himself in a white place but he could hear the voice of John and Papa.

"Are you ready?" John says.

"It's going to be fine." Papa says.

"Yes, I'm ready." Essence says swiftly, he imagined the type of life he could live if he had powers and

now that he had someone like Papa in his life he could be quote a happy person, Essence hears a

sudden explosion.

Essence opens his eyes, everywhere was destroyed and burnt up in flames, he looks around and sees

a burnt body of John laying on the ground.

"What happened here?" Essence says as he looks around confused, he was naked. He heard voices

of numerous people talking all at once. "Shit!" Essence cries out, he faces the burnt machine and talks

to it.

"Stop it, who are you people reading?" Essence asked himself, he heard more voices and he quickly

runs away from the factory.

Months had passed since Essence ran away from the factory, he had gone to the place where he met

Papa but couldn't find him after awhile he stopped searching for Papa feeling Papa might have died

during explosion. Essence had nowhere to go, he couldn't talk to anyone cause he believed the world

he was living was fake.

"The world is fake! We're all being watched by the great gods of the sky!" Essence shouts at the top of

his voice, Essence had already moved on with his life preaching about how the world they live is fake,

he carried a cardboard and waves it around the street, he was already known by the people and called

"Craze Man.". Essence sees a man passing his side and grabs him.

"Can you see it? Can you hear them? Feel them? They can take us out anytime they want." Essence

says swiftly.

"Kuro!" The man says in Yoruba and runs away.

"I'm warning all of you, none of you are listening." Essence cries out, a black car parks in front of him

and a lady wearing a suit comes out of it.

"Hello! We know you're going through a lot and I wish to help you." The lady says firmly. A group of

huge men get down from the car, Essence knew they were taking him to a mental home cause this

wasn't the first time he has been chased.

"I'm not going, there's no need to get better when everything around me isn't real." Essence cries out,

the men don't listen to him. They quickly grab his hands, Essence struggles to escape after tussling his

head a disoriented voice suddenly hits Essence mind.

"I just wish your hands will burn." Essence says and snaps his finger, the hands of the men suddenly

start melting as fire covers their hands, they all scream in pain and the lady runs away scared. "How is

that......." Essence stays far away from them and wonders how he did that.

"Take me far away from here." Essence says and snaps his finger, a tidal wave of wind suddenly blows

around the street and Essence vanishes. He finds himself at a alley.

"How did I do that? What voice did I hear?" Essence says to himself confused. "Take me to Papa."

Essence says and snaps his fingers, wishing to be with him but nothing happens.

"Dammit, I wish I could just he with Papa or John, someone should explain this to me." Essence cries

out and snaps his finger again, all of a sudden he finds himself at the Cake Factory, he looks around

and nothing has quite changed there even John's body was still laying on the floor decayed.

"Come back to life John." Essence says and snaps his fingers, his hands immediately start to peel off

cause he hasn't fully mastered his powers and pulling a stunt like that takes a lot of energy, he cries out

in pain, within a minute John suddenly opens his eye and his decayed skin starts to peel off to a newer

one.

"What I'm I doing here? What happened?" John cries out as he is really scared seeing Essence

standing before him.

"You're okay, I brought you back to life." Essence slowly says, the same disoriented voice whispers

something to him about John. "You're hiding something." Essence says menacingly.

"I'm not, I'm just shocked." John says swiftly as he peels off his old skin.

"Don't play smart." Essence says and slowly moves closer to John.

"I'm not playing smart." John quickly steps back a bit.

"Show me what he is hiding." Essence says loudly and snaps his fingers, John soul suddenly comes

out of his body with a blue colour, Papa gently approaches him who is also in a blue colour.

"I can't do it Papa, it's dangerous." John says and turns around.

"Please, everything is going to be fine." Papa says gently.

"You're asking me to infuse multiple bloods of different powerful supernaturals into one young boy, it'll

kill me." John says concerned.

"The boy life is pretty worthless after all, I just need to confirm whether this can work. Let's do it for

science." Papa says.

Essence screams out in pain, as his powers couldn't hold such memory that long again and John soul

returns to him.

"Where is Papa?" Essence says firmly in a very scary tone.

"I don't know, I've never been to his house before." John says, tears had filled his eyes.

"Take me to Papa." Essence says and snaps his fingers, nothing happens. He repeated the same

sentence constantly but nothing happens, his hands began to peel off cause his powers couldn't find

Papa. Essence thought of a lot of things and heard different voices again.

"You're alive Elliot, you can use your powers for good." John says trying to comfort him.

"You don't get it, nothing is real to me!" Essence cries out. "I don't know what is real." He slowly says.

He then looks at John in a very creepy way.

"I curse you with back pain John." Essence says and snaps his fingers. "I'm going to do anything to find

you Papa, I promise." Essence says to himself.

The team suddenly fall to the ground after seeing everything that had happened to Essence.

"Essence." Ayo tries to talk to him.

"Don't patronize me! This man ruined my life, he even had the guts to send some bunch of heroes to

find me. I never felt anything, feelings, everything was fake............ I had no essence." Essence says

sadly.

"Let us help you." Richard softly says.

"I don't need anyone's help." Essence says to Richard and snaps his fingers, a tape suddenly appears

in the hand of Gboyega and the title is The sad life of Chong. "You all should watch that when you get

home but Papa isn't leaving this place." Essence says and as he's about to snap his fingers, different

bullets from a distance hits his hands.

"Ahh!" Essence cries out in pain.

"I'll like to see you snap those fingers." Tolu says, as she quickly runs toward the team.

"You came?" Gboyega says while smiling, Papa suddenly lands on the ground and the wolfs around

him fade away.

"You won't stop me." Essence cries out, both his hands were bleeding and had holes.

"Let's go!" Ngozi shouts at the top of her voice.

In Papa's house, Linda wanders around the living room worried about her dad and his friends then

suddenly the team all appear in the living room behind her.

"Gboyega." Linda says and runs toward him to hug him.

"I'm glad to be back, go to your room things might get a little bit nasty." Gboyega says swiftly and Linda

runs along.

"You're that cruel." Ayo says to Papa.

"Don't let us jump to conclusion." Richard says confused about the whole thing, Tolu notices the tape

Gboyega is holding and reads the title.

"That tape? Why is Chong name written on it? Play the tape." Tolu says firmly.

"Tolu........" Gboyega tries to reason with her.

"Play the tape!" Tolu interrupt him.

"Just play the damn tape." Ngozi says as she uses her hand to touch her hair. Gboyega brings out the

tape but a light starts shinning from it and it sucks all of them inside.
