Chapter 6

Jocelyn just couldn’t bear his life-threatening tone. Leaning against the wall, she let out a huff, “It’s late.”

“Anything goes at night. You have three seconds to open the door, or I’m busting the door down. 3… Melvin threatened.

Jocelyn couldn’t defy him, she knew he was a man of his word.

Banging down the door now would totally stir up a hornet’s nest.

As he counted down to 2, Jocelyn caved and opened the door.

Melvin put away his phone, raised an eyebrow, “Eager aren’t we?”

“What the hell do you want? Jocelyn stood in the doorway, blocking his entry.

Melvin just gave a gentle push and squeezed into the room, closing the door behind him. Before she could blow her top, he cupped the back of her head and planted a kiss on her lips.

“Mm Jocelyn’s lips stayed sealed as she pushed against him.

Breathing heavily, he ignored the anger in her eyes, his Adam’s apple bobbing, his voice husky, “I missed you.”

His kind of missing was purely physical. Jocelyn understood the look in his eyes; it wasn’t her he wanted; it was her body

And damn it, she always ended up waving the white flag too easily. Just a simple ‘I miss you’ from him, and she’s utterly disoriented

Melvin kissed her, “Did you miss me?”

Being addicted to someone is like quitting smoking; you can resist for a few days, but the moment a lit cigarette is within reach, the urge to take a drag is irresistible.

That’s exactly where she was at.

Melvin’s kisses grew more intense, his hands starting to wander.

His slightly rough palm slid under the hem of her clothes onto her smooth skin, his heavy breaths creating a moist. warmth in the nape of her neck.

Jocelyn felt herself melting into his embrace. As his hand moved higher, she took a sharp inhale and grabbed his hand, “If it’s just about scratching an itch, go find someone else

Melvin’s hand paused, lifting lust-filled eyes, You really gonna deny me?”

Jocelyn’s eyes brimmed with tears as she stared him down, her stance saying it all.

“I’ll take what I want! Melvin kissed her neck, sucking hard.

Three years had been long enough for him to get hooked on her, to crave her like a favorite flavor. No other woman caught his interest they all seemed bland

He was into her body

“Is this what? Rape?” Jocelyn turned her head, her teeth clenched yet her body betraying her with a shameful moan.

Melvin’s breath teased her ear, laced with a hint of triumph, “Dare to say you don’t want me?”

As he spoke, his hand caressed her soft belly, knowing exactly where her weak spot was.

“Mmm. Jocelyn couldn’t help but let out a sultry moan

Still claiming you don’t want it? Melvin’s eyes twinkled with mischief, and then something didn’t feel quite right.

Puzzled, he flipped on the light, and the stark red startled his eyes.

Melvin stepped out of the bathroom, shot a look at the flushed woman, and snorted, “No wonder you’re so cranky

Jocelyn senously wished she could just jump off the balcony right now. novelbin

Embarrassing as hell.

Now, the interest was killed for anything.

“Go wash up and change. Melvin said flatly as he left.

A wave of self-pity washed over Jocelyn. Before any tears could fall, she quickly grabbed some clothes and headed for

a shower

Afterward, she brewed some brown sugar ginger coffee, her thoughts drifting.

He used to buy a durian and leave it at home when her period was approaching, claiming it helped with menstrual

cramps.

And it did work

She scoffed at herself. What was she thinking? That man’s kindness was only because he wanted to sleep with her.

After finishing her coffee, she was ready to head back to her room when the doorbell rang.

The only person she could think of was him, but she was useless to him tonight, so he wouldn’t come back

Best check the peephole first

Then that impatient face of him magnified, who was relentlessly pressing the doorbell.

Not wanting to disturb the peace, Jocelyn opened the door.

Melvin walked in with a cardboard box, plonked it on the table, and revealed its contents.

The scent of dunian burst forth, filling the room.

Melvin frowned as he peeled the durian, the ripe flesh giving off an inviting aroma.

“What are you waiting for? Eat, he grumbled. He himself disliked the stuff, and said it stank like crap.

Jocelyn didn’t get his drift and didn’t move.

Melvin thrust a piece towards her mouth, “Eat!”

But she just stared at him.

“Are you out of your mind? Melvin forcefully fed her the durian, “Eat it quickly, it stinks to high heaven!”

Jocelyn turned away, refusing to bite, “Can you leave now?”

“I’m not going anywhere.” He wiped his hands with a tissue and slouched on the sofa. What can you do about it?”

Jocelyn gritted her teeth, “What do you want, exactly?

I’m moving back in. Melvin lounged back, all calm and collected.

“No way.” she didn’t even need to think about it; getting entangled with him again was out of the question.

A love that must be hidden, like an affair that shamed the marriage, was steeped in disgrace.

Besides, what they had couldn’t even be called a relationship; if she had to label it, they were just sex buddies.

Melvin wasn’t annoyed, “Then you move to my place. You can keep an eye on Preston for me.”

His calculation was clear, expecting her to be a free nanny without any commitment

He’s audacious to even think it

Jocelyn looked at him indifferently, “Are you not bored yet? Sorry, I am”

Melvin narrowed his eyes, “Say that again.”

“I don’t want to keep this murky thing going with you, because i’m sick of it” Jocelyn averted her gaze, a bit wary Tve

“I find you’re not as devoted as me on this, just three years and you’re ready to switch men.” Melvin stood up, approached her, and gently lifted her chin. “What is it? I didn’t satisfy you in some way?”

Jocelyn turned away, but he firmly gripped her chin firmly, preventing her from looking away.

Don’t be so naive, woman. You really think marriage guarantees a lifetime of happiness? Ha! I can say no man treats you better than I do, marriage aside”

Melvin cradled her face, his gaze intense, almost threatening. “I’m still interested in you, don’t take me lightly. If you dare

refuse me again…”

Jocelyn was holding her breath, her beautiful eyes dancing, and her lips parted slightly, “What would you do?”

Melvin had one arm wrapped around her waist, the other pinching the back of her neck so she couldn’t dodge.

His lips barely parted. He leaned in close to her ear, nibbled on her earlobe, and at the moment her body shivered, he said. Tonight, even if it’s a battle to the last drop of blood, I’m gonna show you just how good I was to you before.”

Jocelyns cheeks were burning up, her breathing all over the place, and she cursed, “You freak!”

Melvin acted as if he hadn’t heard her, his hand still on her waist. With his forehead against hers, his peachy eyes brimmed with affection, his cool lips gently brushing against hers, “So, am I moving in with you, or are you coming over to my place? Huh?
