Chapter 30 Christopher Carter

Christopher Carter soon arrived at Anthony's suite.He was an odd-looking old man.He was thin and tall, with narrow eyes and a hooked nose.

Every time Jack saw Christopher, he felt that this ugly old man looked more like a villain from a superhero movie than a leading authority in the medical community.

Christopher smiled a lot, but his smile usually only made him look weirder, as if he was planning something evil.

"Ha-ha, Anthony, it's rare enough for you to call me over.I didn't expect the patient to be a young girl this time.What, are you finally planning to get married?"

Christopher teased as he strode into the VIP suite, led by Jack.

Then, looking at the man seated in the wheelchair, he burst into laughter and continued, "Why are you still sitting there? Do you want to pretend to be disabled in front of me? There is no need."

Anthony was holding a phone and staring off into space, immersed in his own thoughts.It was not until he heard Christopher's voice that he came to his senses.

As he stood up to greet his guest, he gently put the phone down next to Maria's pillow.It was Maria's phone, which had fallen out of her pocket when she fainted.

"Mr.Carter, she fainted all of a sudden.Please check if she is okay," Anthony said politely.

There was no professional medical equipment here, but it was not a problem for Christopher.He came from a family of doctors and had accumulated extensive experience with age, so medicine was second nature for him.He could conduct a preliminary diagnosis without any medical equipment at all.

Christopher sat on the edge of the bed and began to examine Maria's condition.

When his eyes fell on her face, he paused.

"What's wrong? Mr.Carter, is her condition serious?" Anthony asked worriedly.

He was standing behind Christopher, so he couldn't see the latter's face, but he felt that something was wrong.

"Well..."

After contemplating for a while, Christopher finally opened his mouth to speak.

Anthony had heard this term before, but he was not really familiar with it.

"Narcolepsy is a very special disease.Its cause varies with the individual, but most of them are psychological factors.This young lady here has narcolepsy.I came here in a hurry, so I didn't bring anything with me.I can't provide any effective treatment for her for the time being."

Anthony listened to Christopher's words with a poker face as usual.His eyes swept across Maria's face before falling on the phone next to her.

Jack however, gasped in awe.

"Mr.Carter, you are so amazing! You diagnosed her in just a few seconds."

Christopher kept silent and ignored Jack.

Jack was a little embarrassed, thinking that Christopher didn't respond maybe because he didn't want to talk to a lowly bodyguard.

After a while, Anthony asked, "Do you mean that there is no medicine for her condition?"

Christopher nodded.

"We have been working hard on developing specific drugs for narcolepsy.However, almost all doctors agree that we must stick to the principle of specialized individual treatment for this disease, which means we have to customize a treatment plan for each patient.After all, the causes of their illnesses are almost completely different."

Since narcolepsy was caused by psychological factors, the most effective treatment was to solve the problem at its root.

And since everyone had different things troubling them, the treatment method would also be different.

Christopher turned around and, noticing the slight concern on Anthony's face, added, "One thing we know for sure will be helpful for the treatment of narcolepsy is doing exercise.If she can go jogging or something like that every day, it will be useful for her."

"Doing exercise every day? Jogging?"

Anthony murmured to himself.

In that case, it locked like Maria would need someone to supervise her every day.His gaze fell on the phone next to her pillow again.It was not the iPhone that Bill had bought for her.It was a black cellphone issued by Heaven for their top-level hackers only.

Anthony's eyes slowly narrowed.
