The Witches

Chapter 8: Fame

Chapter 8: Fame

{Bethany P.O.V}

His love note fell to the ground, ripped to shreds. Wade looked so broken and honestly, it brought a

little life to me.

"I don't understand, Bethany....?"

He seemed confused but I know he wasn't an idiot. I waited for him to catch on. His eyes grew when he

realised, "you used me,"

"Yeah. I did. Now you're useless and I can't waste my time on you any longer. Sorry,"

I shared and walked away to my friend Marisa who waited on me. Marisa and I are always together.

She's my best friend, aside from Sindra. Before the two worlds became one, she was my friend on

'San, she's never been on earth and I keep on promising her that I'll take her but we never get the time.

She giggled and we shook our heads.

"Anyway," she told, "we need to get tickets to the Horror Ball,"

I sighed and groaned, "I know. But those are so expensive,"

Marisa nodded her head, "I would do anything for those,"

The Horror Ball is one heck of a party and Marisa and I have been dreaming of going forever but you

have to be fifteen to enter and since we're finally fifteen we can start making real plans. We know what

we're going to wear and how our hair will be but the tickets are expensive since it's catered for the novelbin

elites.

"We're gonna have to hustle for tickets," I told Marisa. "I'll do anything for those tickets,"

I nodded my head and looked over at an overly excited Marisa and giggled. Her cheeks turn pink

whenever she's very happy or very sad and even when angry. That's why I'll always know how she

feels in any situation but she still tries to hide it now and then which always makes me laugh.

"Let's make a deal. I'll try my best to get two tickets one for me and one for you. And you'll do the

same?"

She grinned and cocked her head to the side and folded her arms. I looked right into her big deep-set

blue eyes and wondered what was on her mind, "but let's shake on it. I don't trust anyone, not even

myself,"

I agreed. No one can be trusted. Not on earth and equally not here so I don't even blame my friend

even if we've known each other since we were six. "It's a deal. I guess,"

We held hands and looked into each other's eyes. "To you, I solemnly swear and may Tiscah be our

witness," we said together with the oath of Tiscah. Our goddess.

Tiscah's rose wind blew around us. It smelled like Tiscah herself, roses and the ocean. Then the soft

red wind entered our hands while we still held it.

We let go of each other's grip and looked at each other. It's the first time that I swore anything to

anyone it sounds exciting. We giggled and walked on to the eating area to have our breakfast.

We quickly found an empty table and sat down. I looked up at Marisa and grinned. "Ris, let's check our

schedules to see if we have classes together."

She nodded her head and scratched in her bag, "you realise that we don't have breakfast?"

I nodded my head as I searched for my schedule. I remember that I placed it in my file, "yeah. That will

be sorted out as soon as a few fools make our way,"

"Here,"

I took her schedule and she scooted over to me and our eyes studied each other's schedules. Thank

Tiscah we had the same schedule. Which we hoped for because we took the same subjects.

Monday:

Potions

Surviving 101

Supernatural Creatures

Tiscah's Hour

Break:

Curses/ Hexes

Elemental Magic: Fire

Animal Care

We tapped our feet on the floor in excitement and squirmed like little girls when four girls approached

us with big smiles on their faces.

"Um... hi Bethany," one of them spoke.

I looked over at Marisa and gave her a small wink that they didn't notice.

"Is it okay if we get your autograph?"

I've always adored my fans. I always light up when they come up to me so I chuckled and gave them

the warmest smile I could put on, "of course," I replied, the tone of my voice going higher.

They squeaked and looked at each other. They all had a notebook and a pen. I took it and signed my

name in it and left a little heart next to my name so that they can know that I love them. I finished all of

their signatures and looked at how happy they were.

"Anything else?" I asked as I put my hand on my chest as I nodded my head while I waited for their

reply.

"No ma'am," one replied.

I looked over at Marisa who giggled.

"Um...can I ask you guys a favour though?"

"YES!" they exclaimed and nodded their heads so hard I thought it would fall off.

"Um, Marisa and I forgot to get ourselves breakfast. Can you guys please bring Marisa and I some?"

They squeaked. I looked at the oldest one and gestured for her to wait first as I pretended to look for

something in my bag, "here's the money for the lunch and your trouble..."

"No! I mean... you don't have to. We'd love to pay for your lunch,"

I looked at her and pulled a face. One that asked them if they're sure. But I asked it too and they stayed

by their word.

"Thank you, guys. I promise I won't ask again,"

"You can ask us for anything," they said and was off.

Marisa and I held our laughs until they disappeared then we turned to face each other and burst into

laughter. Tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Oh my god," Marisa said as she wiped a tear from her eye and looked at me, "it must be fun having an

audience. Have you ever thought of like becoming an influencer? Or making money off from the fact

that you have the affinity for fire?"

I lit up. I've never thought of that before, it's a bright idea. I could milk this for as long as I live. Wear it

out. This could be interesting since I don't even have any social pages here on Meledsan. Never felt

the need to get one since I'm not from here but I'm a witch and live a double life. It's time that I fully tap

into that double life.
