Chapter 29 I’ll Kill You
“You were on fire last night and kept asking me to give you good.
And you kept saying you wanted a baby.”

Cordelia’s body couldn’t help trembling slightly. She asked Elijah vigilantly, “Why did you come to me
last night?”
“Your friend called me. She said she couldn’t reach you and was afraid that you might hurt yourself,”
Elijah said calmly.
Cordelia suddenly realized that Imogen must have informed him.
So Elijah came to check on her because he felt bad about abandoning her on the highway and worried
that she could hurt herself.
She didn’t know what to say to him.
The truth was Cordelia was a little moved by Elijah’s gesture.
But she was no longer the girl who used to love him no matter what.
She knew men were good at pretending to be nice. It was all fake.

Elijah’s look changed immediately. “I spared you plenty of time and gave you many opportunities, but
you refused them.”
Cordelia was furious, but she had nothing to say.
“Now, I’ll give you another chance. Do you want to go back with. me?” Elijah said coldly and
domineeringly.
But Cordelia was a stubborn woman. She said word by word, “No. I do not.”
The man seemed to have lost his patience. He turned around and left without looking back.
Looking at his back, Cordelia felt like someone had stabbed her heart again. She couldn’t help covering
her chest in pain and slowly sat on the ground…
Cordelia rested for three days.
But she was in no peace during the time.
What happened that day probably angered Elijah. As a result, Cordelia’s family suffered.
Her mother, Janice, kept pestering her like crazy.
She even went to Cordelia’s studio while Cordelia was resting at home. After receiving a call from an
employee, Cordelia immediately took a taxi to the studio.
Janice was downstairs. Looking at Cordelia arrogantly, she said coldly, “Cordelia, you are a grown-up
now. You should know how to work on your marriage with Elijah. What did you do to make him end his
partnership with Kevin?”
Cordelia looked at Janice coldly but remained silent.
“Let’s go to Elijah’s company now and apologize to him!” Janice said as she reached out to pull
Cordelia.
Cordelia took a step back, avoiding Janice’s hand. “I won’t go.”
Janice was enraged. She raised her hand to hit Cordelia.
But Cordelia saw that coming. She quickly raised her hand and caught Janice’s wrist instead.
Janice was stunned.
“Mrs. Janice Deleon, don’t you dare to boss me around! I’m an independent woman!”
“If Kevin is competent, he will turn things over and continue his business. If he’s not, he should change
his career as soon as possible. I am just his stepdaughter, and I have no obligation to support the
entire Deleon family!”
Janice suddenly screamed, “How dare you! I’ll kill you today!”
