What Separates Me and You

Chapter 20 He Can Only Discard It Himself

His voice wasn’t loud, but Josephine was startled.

Anxiously, she gestured, “…I want to… buy something.”

“Buy what?”

She gulped and continued, “Clothes. I want to buy clothes for you.

He stared deep into her eyes and laughed abruptly. “Buy clothes for me?”

The woman nodded.

“Josie,” he called her name out of the blue. It has been a long time since he called.

her that.

He touched her cheek softly and spoke with a cold voice, “You know how to misbehave now, do you? Lying without blinking your eyes. Did Avery teach you that?”

Josephine’s pupils shrank, and she shook her head repeatedly.

The man grabbed her hand to stop her from explaining and hugged her waist with his other hand before planting a kiss on her lips.

“Don’t be so nervous. I was just joking. So, what kind of clothes do you plan on buying for me?”

Josephine’s hands were restrained, and she could only stare at him.

He didn’t seem to want her to answer either. His fingers moved around her body. slipping under her sweater and pulling down the zipper on her back.

Josephine looked outside and noticed that it was drizzling and gloomy. It was only a little past five o’clock.

She tried to break free from him, but her wrists were tightly bound in his grip, and she had no way of communicating with him.

Her breath quickened as she shook her head and begged with her eyes.

But he seemed to just be teasing her and didn’t make any substantial moves.

It wasn’t until tears welled up in her eyes that he finally let her go. novelbin

She stood up from his lap, quickly straightened her clothes, and gestured, “I’m going to make dinner.”

He stood up as well and said, “No need. You can eat alone tonight.”

After Lewis finished speaking, he buttoned up his collar, took a few steps away, and turned back to say, “There won’t be a second time.”

Josephine bit her lip and avoided his gaze.

His eyes flickered, but he walked out without saying anything. Josephine weakly. collapsed onto the couch and placed her hand on her small belly.

She knew what he meant. She couldn’t see Avery anymore, nor could she earn

money.

He said that he would agree to a divorce once she paid everything back, but he stopped her from earning money.

He clearly didn’t love her, yet he wouldn’t let her go.

Perhaps, as Avery had said, he was just being protective. Even if he didn’t want her, he wouldn’t easily let go, especially not when it was something that he owned and controlled

Even if he didn’t want her, he would have to discard her himself and not let her walk away on her own.

Lewis drove into the drizzle and arrived at the hospital, going straight to the ward.

Even though Sierra sprained her ankle, she didn’t actually need to stay at the hospital, but she insisted on doing so anyway.

She stayed there for two lonely days, but Lewis only came to visit her once. Since that was the case, there was no point in staying at the hospital, so she decided to check out. She gave a call to Lewis to come and pick her up.

Lewis stood in the elevator with a family of four.

The woman was holding a baby in her arms while the man had his arms around her, Next to the man stood a five–year–old boy.

“Look at our daughter. The more I look at her face, the rounder it seems. Wiff she grow up to have a big round face?” the woman complained, but her face was

adorned with a sweet smile.

The man laughed. “Round faces are so cute. Our daughter will definitely look like. when she grows up.”

you

“It’s better if she looks like me. If she looks like you, she won’t be able to get married.”

“Then my little baby daughter can stay with me forever.”

The little boy tugged at his mother’s hand and said, “Mommy, I want to hold my little

sister too.”

The woman freed one hand to caress the boy’s head. “You can hold her when we get. home. She won’t run away, and you can hold her anytime you want in the future.”

The elevator door opened, and the family of four walked out laughing and talking. When they passed by Lewis, he glanced at the baby in the woman’s arms.

He watched them leave until the elevator doors closed.

When Josephine first came to their family, her face was also round. But as she grew. up, it became less round.
